One of my old roommates from college, Jon, is a teacher at an alternative school on the south side of Chicago. It is for students who were expelled from their original high school. Jon had to be trained to take down a student and to appropriately discipline them if the situation dictated. He has told me that he really likes the job, but sometimes it is hard. He said that they have a very low budget, and that many of the computers in the labs at the school run super slow. I told him he should have them overclocked, rather than having to buy all new computers. I told him that it would make the computers run much faster, and that it would be so much cheaper than the school having to buy all new computers for its labs. He thanked me for the suggestion a couple of weeks later when he called me and told me that the school had taken me up on the advice and gotten their computer overclocked. He said that it was saving some of the classes, which had been very far behind the curriculum due to the slow running computers. I told him that I was glad I was able to help.
