My roommate and me are starting our search now for new apartments. We are deciding to start early so that we can get the best selection so to speak. We found our current apartment using the East Village Chicago Neighborhood Guide, so we will be going another route this year. Our apartment now is just too old and small. For one the heating bill is outrageous. It was three hundred dollars one month. The place just does not heat well, and then there is the kitchen, which is way too small and has no dishwasher. When we cook, especially both of us at the same time, cleaning up the dishes is the most tedious thing we can think of doing on a full stomach. I still have not finished form the last time we made dinner and that was almost a week ago. I think we need to look for a more updated place. My roommate thinks he found a nice place just right around the corner from us, which is nice because I would like to stay in the neighborhood. It is on the second floor of a house with three bedrooms. One of his friends would end up living with us, which is cool with me as long as the rent is not more than what we are paying now.
