CIVIL WAR REENACTMENTS

I miss my great uncle.  I used to visit him all the time when he lived out in the suburbs, but a year or so back he moved into a retirement community Atlanta.  He loves the warmer weather and the energy of the city and really takes to southern living, but I barely ever see him anymore.  I can’t just drive down to Atlanta if I feel like it.  He flies up to visit sometimes, but it’s not really the same.  He’s really big into Civil War reenactments, which is another reason he really likes living down south.  I used to go over and we’d set up this board with soldier figurines and such and we’d act out one of the battles.  We always switched up sides as the North and the South, though somehow my uncle generally ended up as the winning side more often than not.  Sometimes, we’d just sit around in his backyard and he’d talk about the Civil War, why and how it happened and how and why it shouldn’t have.  I learned more from him than from any teacher in any school I’ve ever been to.  But now he’s hours and hours away.  I’d be best off taking a flight to see him.  But what can I do or say?  He’s really happy.
