LOGAN SQUARE

Every time I drive home, I got off the highway at the Fullerton exit and from there turn onto Western.  I see this bankruptcy law practice all the time up on the second floor of a building above a restaurant.  It has “bankruptcy” and “bancarrota” written on its windows, which is actually the same word, just the former is in English and the latter is in Spanish.  Its in Bucktown so there’s a lot of people who speak either one of those languages or both.  Actually, it’s right on the tip of Bucktown, bordering Logan Square.  And it’s actually close to the Logan Square, not just the neighborhood, but the square itself.  I used to have a job where I drove around, looking for “for want” signs for a real estate group so I got to know my way around these neighborhoods fairly well.  I know all the in’s and out’s, where to find decent parking, where the gas stations are, and all that.  It’s come in useful a few times.   I never get lost anymore.  I’m one of those people you want to pass by and ask for directions from.  Of course I don’t always get them right.  My mind might be on something else and I might not be thinking clearly.
