WEEEKEND WARRIOR

As a part time, weekend warrior type of handyman, I find it very hard to justify paying hundreds and hundreds of dollars for my power and cutting tools.  A trip to the home improvement center could easily put you in the poor house if you were going to buy top of the line equipment, but since I don’t do this stuff for a living, I always keep my eyes on the classifieds and shop the yard sales.  I’ve been able to find quite a few high quality, almost new power tools for a fraction of what it would have cost me for getting it new in the box from a store.  I know that I could save a lot of time and just go into the store anytime that I wanted and in minutes walk out with exactly what I needed, where as yard sale and used goods shopping can require a little bit more of a hunt to find exactly what I’m looking for, but to me the hunt is part of the fun.  I like going out Saturday mornings and making a day out of traveling around trying to unearth treasures, and when I do the money that I save is always well worth it.
